Exchange with affected network operators on the topic of charging infrastructure for heavy goods vehicles at unmanaged motorway car parks in Baden-Württemberg

Regular exchanges with affected electricity grid operators in Baden-Württemberg to establish a fast-charging network for trucks on federal motorways

In July 2024, the federal government, together with the responsible grid operators and the industry association BDEW, gave the official go-ahead for the establishment of a fast-charging network for trucks on federal motorways. To this end, a list of the planned locations, including the required grid connection capacities, was published. The initial focus was on unmanaged areas along federal motorways.

For Baden-Württemberg, a total of nine locations at unmanaged motorway car parks were specified in the published list of locations. The Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy is in regular contact with the electricity grid operators affected by this, receives reports on the status of the grid connection work and supports the exchange of information between the grid operators and the National Charging Infrastructure Control Centre.
