Sustainable mobility exists in many forms. Annually changing campaigns have been designed to encourage people on the threshold of new stages of life to try it out and then use it regularly. This is a key goal of the New Mobility campaign run by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Transport.
Baden-Württemberg is the national leader in car sharing. Nonetheless, its utilization should double every two years in order to noticeably reduce the number of private cars and thus to contribute to climate protection. In 2021, young people were therefore introduced to carsharing during the #sharewochen weeks in the course of their driver training. In cooperation with carsharing providers and driving schools, the booking of such a vehicle was simulated on site as part of the practical driving lessons. An accompanying theory module online provided the basic information on carsharing.
In 2022, the focus will be on people starting vocational training or studies in Baden-Württemberg. At the state-wide roadshow ElectriCity, they can try out e-bikes and e-scooters at their universities or vocational schools in fall 2022. The young target group will again receive plenty of relevant information via TikTok and also quite traditionally through direct personal contact at the educational institutions through topics related to the new local mobility.
In addition, the Ministry of Transport and KEA-BW recognize people’s local commitment for the benefit of the mobility transition with the Wir machen Mobilitätswende!2022 awards for the second time. A renowned jury will award prizes to 18 nominees. The best five and the public choice award, will be presented and honored by Minister of Transport Winfried Hermann in November 2022.
