Discussions with grid operators in Baden-Württemberg to develop and agree on an industry agreement

In discussions with Baden-Württemberg's distribution grid and charging infrastructure operators and with energy industry associations, obstacles to the grid integration of charging infrastructure were first identified and suggestions for solutions to speed up the process were collected. Based on this, an industry agreement on the grid integration of charging infrastructure in Baden- Württemberg was drawn up and signed on 20 March 2023. The industry agreement’s focus is on the charging infrastructure required for the ramp-up of electromobility and the related effects on the grids. For a successful development of the charging infrastructure, it must be integrated into the power grid, and the respective hurdles in the approval processes of grid connections should be removed. The industry agreement serves as a basis for identifying blind spots in the charging infrastructure, establishing uniform procedures, and for the digitalization of processes and an exchange of information between all involved stakeholders.
