Academic STEM professionals — bright new minds for the state

Young STEM talent is critical to the success of the state’s economic transformation. With a wide range of job profiles and their importance for climate protection and digitalization, we will be able to promote qualifications, studies and degrees in STEM. From May to September 2022, a project team, including universities and partners in industry and society, analyzed how universities could respond to the high demand for professionals who have the competencies that are relevant to the transformation, namely by

  • further academic training,
  • measures to increase the number of first-year students and graduates in the STEM subjects, and
  • collaboration between universities and companies.

The recommendations for universities, companies, and the academic qualification system were published in December 2022.
