Sustainable, digitalized and resilient production in the future

The aim of this mission is to identify the current and future challenges being faced by the Baden-Württemberg automotive industry and its suppliers and to offer specific recommendations for actions to overcome them. Of particular importance in this regard are the aspects of the shortage of skilled labor, supply chain resilience, volatile markets, and cost pressure. The situation becomes even more difficult through the increasing demands with regard to resource efficiency and a future circular economy. The mission experts therefore consider the following points to be crucial:

  • Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to address the shortage of skilled labor in the STEM disciplines and to establish a circular economy, and
  • Increase energy and resource efficiency, new production methods and a more sustainable design of value creation networks
